All you need is a computer with a high speed internet connection and the latest google earth software. Yes yet an another interesting innovative tool from google- google sky allows you to travel the universe.
In the google earth go to view -> switch to sky.. now you will be able to view the galaxies,constellations,planets,stars,meteors and much more. Moreover in google sky the various known galaxies and stars are labeled. But unfortunately this has turned out to be a blunder.
The label is right over the astronomical object.This blocks a relatively big portion of the object. I've attached the snapshot(shown above) of Andromeda galaxy (the nearest galaxy to our own milkyway galaxy..remember?). That would explain.
And some of the reviews that i read have pointed out the incorrect description of some of the astronomical objects.. For eg. for the Owl nebula(a classic planetary nebula in Ursa Major) the description was fine but the icon says it's a globular cluster.

I used to get lots of dreams while sleeping. According to a fact, i must be approximately having 4 to 7 dreams per night. I'll remember some of them. But some others even if I try hard to re collect I wont be able to remember it. The word dream is derived from the word "dreme" which stands for joy and happy. But not all of my dreams are pleasant ones. My professor will be cooking for me, my mom will be playing football with me, my dearest friends will be trying to kill me, I will be trying to save the whole world from Lord Voldemort and even more confusing and horrible incidents will happen in my dresms. Dream has always been a strange thing. Here i've listed some of the facts that i read.

For healthy life and to prevent psychosis

Dreams are also essential for a healthy life. If you don't have adequate dream activity then it signifies lack of protein and problem in one's personality.In a recent sleep study, students who were awakened at the beginning of each dream, but still allowed their 8 hours of sleep, all experienced difficulty in concentration, irritability, hallucinations, and signs of psychosis after only 3 days. When finally allowed their REM sleep the student’s brains made up for lost time by greatly increasing the percentage of sleep spent in the REM stage.

Men and Women dream differently

Except people with extreme psychological disorder everyone dreams.en and women have different dreams and different physical reactions. Men tend to dream more about other men, while women tend to dream equally about men and women.

Blind people dream

Blind people who have lost their eye sight after birth can see images in their dreams. Their images are in accordance of the time when they got blind. TORCS

Adidas has joined hands with the cairos technology to present the new official tournament ball, adidas Teamgeist II, featuring the new intelligent goal line technology designed to assist referee in identifying whether the ball has crossed the goal line or not and has been successfully tested at FIFA club world cup in Japan.

Bloggers from Malaysia are testing their popularity in election.

The bloggers, Jeff Ooi, Tony Pua, and Badrul Hisham Shahari are standing in opposition to the ruling party that has been in power for about fifty years. According to Reuters, the three are hoping that popularity on the Internet will help them at the polls.

Only about one-fifth of Malays have access to the Internet, yet about 42% of the country's 26 million people are registered to vote. Because getting press attention outside of the Malaysian blogosphere is nearly impossible for these candidates, making an impression on voters will be difficult.

"Beyond the major cities like Kuala Lumpur and Penang, there's not much the bloggers can really hope to accomplish" said Mohamad Norza Zakaria, a leader in UMNO party.

In the US last week, another blogger was nearly drafted into the political arena. Popular blogger, author, columnist, and law professor Lawrence Lessig was said to be contemplating a run for the US Congress in California's 12th district after a Facebook group urging the run attracted over 4,000 members. Lessig yesterday that he would not run.

The Pentagon used a missile to destroy US's Spy Satellite

The US spy satellite, USA 193, which lost it's track was more likely to hit earth.And so it was hit with a missile fired from a warship at the west of Hawaii by the Pentagon with the objective of hitting the hazardous fuel tank containing toxic hydrazine and spread the hydrazine into space. Google planning to buy balloon company to extend it's service to RuRal areas

According to the wall Street Journal, Google is likely to either buy or work with a ballon based wireless network company, Space Data Corp.

Space data corp aims at bringing wireless internet access at rural areas with the help of balloons which can be launched at the lowest cost- about $50 to launch the balloon,$1500 for the receiver,and a $100 finder's fee for recovery after the balloon returns to earth. Sounds strange right?

A single balloon which survives just for 24 hours can provide service to an area equivalent to 40 cell phone towers. The company has decided to launch 20 balloons a day. And as a BusinessWeek article stated Space Data believes that it can cover the whole country with a Wiimax broadbband network with just 370 balloons which is definitely efficient when compared with the traditional method which requires over 22000 towers.

Its actually a picture taken by the Hubble space telescope. The sharpest image ever taken of the large 'grand design' spiral galaxy M81 was released on 9th of June 2007 at the American Astronomical Society Meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii.

A spiral-shaped system of stars, dust, and gas clouds, the galaxy's arms wind all the way down into the nucleus. Though the galaxy is located 11.6 million light-years away, the Hubble Space Telescope's view is so sharp that it can resolve individual stars, along with open star clusters, globular star clusters, and even glowing regions of fluorescent gas.

The Hubble data was taken with the Advanced Camera for Surveys in 2004 through 2006. This colour composite was assembled from images taken in blue, visible, and infrared light.

Google and Apple have joined hands against the Microsoft! In this giant’s game of poker, Google has trumped Microsoft at every turn. First, with the $1b AOL deal for a 5% stake, with a $900m partnership with MySpace, acquiring the $1.65b YouTube sweepstakes, and winning the $3b DoubleClick bid. Followed by snapping up of Blogger, Keyhole which later became Google Earth, Where2 used in Google Maps, PeakStream, etc. before Microsoft recognized the value of these companies. These master moves by Google forced MS to pick up aQuantive for an enormous $6b sum and a $240m deal for a 1.6% stake with Facebook to stabilize.

Having at least 60% of the entire search market, Google dominate online advertising. Now they are making a heavy push into the enterprise with Google Apps and Search Appliances. Google has built many of their platforms on the Internet and their applications are Web browser-based. This neutralizes the need to use Microsoft Windows and enhances Apple Mac OS X, Linux, Solaris and whatever o s to use Google’s applications. Being aware of this fact, Google has partnered with Mozilla Firefox and Webkit [used in Apple’s Safari], providing alternatives to Microsoft Internet Explorer.

In addition to partnering with AOL, the Mozilla Foundation, and MySpace, Google has chosen to partner with another dominant company, Apple. In fact, the CEO of Google, Eric Schmidt has a seat as one of Apple’s board of directors. Apple, the ruling media company has provided the most powerful user-experience available to consumers by products like Mac OS X, Safari, iTunes, iPod, iPhone, iLife, iWork. Also they have partnerships with major music and movie studios. The CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs, has a seat on Disney’s board of directors, after Disney acquired his other company, Pixar.

In fact, Apple’s latest incarnation of Mac OS X, called Leopard has thoroughly trumped Microsoft Windows Vista. Apple has at least a 3 year lead over Microsoft on their operating system technology. As most consumers are still using Microsoft software it will take some time for platform switching.

Apple has, possibly, the most powerful man in media, Steve Jobs, who has fought many wars, over the last three decades, with Microsoft’s Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer. While, Google have Eric Schmidt, who has fought many battles with Microsoft before — first at Sun Microsystems and later at Novell. He is the perfect man to exploit Microsoft’s weaknesses. So this alliance is sure to remove MS from the computing field.

Over the last few years, Ms has denied that Linux, Google, and Apple have hurt them. A few years back, Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer claimed that “Linux is a toy” — while it took over the Internet back-end. Then he vowed to kill Google — while Google’s lead continues to grow and Microsoft falls further behind. Google’s move into Apps is the biggest, direct threat to Microsoft. Before this move, Google has never directly challenged Microsoft; it was always an indirect challenge via an advertising business model, while Microsoft sold software. Ballmer claims that Google Apps is no threat to Ms office. However, Microsoft’s own lawyers are siting Google’s successes, as they try to sue them for antitrust. Microsoft is pathetic!

Bill Gates steps down from Microsoft next year. Is it because he wants to focus more of his energy in the Bill and Melinda Foundation? Or because he knows the fact that Microsoft is finished and fighting it will be a losing battle??

SRK's Om Shanti Om beats Saawariya at the box office!!

The box office seems to favour Shah Rukh Khan’s “Om Shanti Om” in comparison to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Saawariya”.While King Khan’s film registered 90 percent occupancy across the country on its Diwali release, Bhansali’s love story managed 60 percent.

OSO is much more entertaining than Saawariya. SRK’s film has a perfect blend of comedy and drama while Bhansali’s film is stale and boring. It is extremely slow. Apart from the extravagant sets there is nothing in the film to hold the audiences’ interest.. This was most of the audiences' response.

According to Vishal Kapur, COO of Fun Cinemas, OSO has generated a lot of repeat audience interest in comparison to Saawariya.The difference of how well both the films would do in the coming days is also evident from the advance bookings. For Saturday, 50 percent of advance booking has been done for ‘Om Shanti Om’ while for ‘Saawariya’ it is just a little over 20 percent.

Seems that among our 15 cineplexes across the country, OSO did a business of at least Rs.500,000 at the big centres and Rs.150,000 at the smaller ones on Friday. Saawariya made Rs.350,00 at the big centres, while at the smaller ones it could only manage to collect Rs.78,000.

But however with two big, must-watch films released on the same day i believe that most of the movie lovers would prefer to watch both the films.
